OK so I read below on the list about the Fabio GTS and it begs the question how many manufacturers are on the list?
It also dawns on me that this must be a new Golden age for British built cars isnt it?

the list of cars is as follows(Please correct me if Im wrong)
TVR
Marcos
Aston
Jag
Fabio GTS
Ariel Atom
Prodrive stuff
McLarin
Lotus

any others?

Aston Martin ... Sold back to a BRITISH Entrepreneur with a love for it!
Though I suppose you could call Prodrive multinational, could you?

Ascari - in production - very.

Marcos... where have you been! They are still here! Their new car (the TSO) is quite a beasty - did you see it on Vroom Vroom, or Top Gear even? very recently?

Connaught, well not that super, but.... very different!

There isn't one I car think of (that is funded, built and powered)that is British.

Suppose Noble (mostly built in SA and totally built in USA under license) and Ultima are the actual last hopes (no Brit power though) and maybe the thing Melling are making.

Eh? Well if they're still here they've only just come back 'cos they closed down about a month ago or so.

Thunderbelmont - Ascari are very much not in production - they only ever built one customer road car and seven race cars. Numerous prototypes and the yellow A10 as well. There are less than ten people work there now - this time last year there were 38....

TVR : At best now 'owned' by either Russian or US individuals. Nothing left in UK
Marcos : Owned by the administrators, who are at least British....
Aston : Owned by Saudis
Jag : Owned by an American company, soon to be Indian
Fabio GTS : No customer cars seen as of yet
Ariel Atom : Built in a shed in Blighty thumbup
Prodrive stuff : No cars. Is a UK motorsport company though
McLarin : I think you didn't mean that as pointed out above. SLR is a current car with a German company backing/funding it
Lotus : Owned by the Malaysians. Esprit last "supercar"ish, out of production for years.
any others?

If you mean Supercars few more that spring to mind
Noble : Controlled by a British person, Mr Lee Noble, with US money backing him
Ascari : Unknown ownership structure, not many customer cars visible
Ultima : British, british, british
Invicta : British, but not many customer cars around
Bristol : Yep, British

Ascari is owned by a Dutch guy Klaas Zwart (or someone) who brought it after he liked a car Lee Noble designed (he's everywhere!!!!).

It really is sad when Britain now has less car (owned) companies than the Dutch.

Oh double poo!

That'll teach me to not read the glossys.

OK on Ascari. Seems strange when you've got the likes of Slop Gear testing one and telling us how wonderful it is (for a small price!! eek). I was just off to buy one, or maybe a bag of chips and a pint instead..

That leaves Connaught then. Perhaps they'll get into production this year. No American V8's going in there! (yet)

No.

They put engines in the front, and rear also.
