mk1 mr2 with turbo?
Discussion
i have previously owned a mk1 mr2 and loved it, wish i had a supercharged one and have recently been having a hankering to buy one, whilst i have been thinking about this i have had a thought if anyone has put a mk2 turbo engine into a mk1. I also have a celica gt4 (st185) and love the engine, the combination of the two would be brilliant. does anyone know of anyone that has done this translplant??

paul woods did one of the first UK conversions and has also done a camry V6 conversion and last time i spoke to him was putting a lexus V8 into one!
quick google and you'll see a lot of MK1's with 3SGTE conversions and a lot of V8 conversions. V8 conversions also common on MX5's too.
might wanna look at this also

3SGTE powered mk1s are incredibly fast. There are a few in NZ with well over 300hp.
I am building a turbocharged 4AGZE motor for my mk1. A lot cheaper and easier than the 3S conversion and potentially nearly as quick. Basically swapping the SC for a turbo is all I am doing, with a forged bottom end. Should be good for 200rwhp using the stock 4agze ecu and fuel system.
I recommend it!

I always saw this as massively more sensible.I am building a turbocharged 4AGZE motor for my mk1. A lot cheaper and easier than the 3S conversion and potentially nearly as quick.
