Got an '06 Legacy just before Christmas and spent a bit of time familiarising myself with the alarm since its a bit more hardcore than my previous motors. The manual mentions a keypad but I'm buggered if I can find it.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers

Got an 05 Outback and there ain't no keypad, maybe it's a bit of dodgy translation and they just mean the keyfob button!

I had a bloody good look around and couldn't find it. It might be the wrong alarm manual I guess. What I really want to know is how to lock the car but turn the internal sensors off when I'm at the petrol station with kid/dog/wife inside.

From memory, it's behind a little flap below and to the right of the steering wheel. I don't have my 05 Spec B with me today to confirm, but I'm almost certain that's where it is. I seem to recall it had me foxed for a while....

Would agree with that location, another hint is that try and find where the fuse location in the car. As no the reverse of my keypad is all the fuses for the lights heater etc.

also the alarm is capable of much more than subaru put in the instruction book.

Make sure you know the PIN number as if you park in a multistorey car park which has Mobile phone antennas then the keyfob wont work nd you have to punch in the pin to start the car! Or you will have to push the car behind a concrete support blocking the signal from the antenna and try to start it..

But you will look like a right plum doing it!
