Went to Germany and got taken out on the Nurburgring in two ultra rare cars...

1. Porsche 924 GTS(R), which had 8000 hours of restoration work. Needless to say it was amazing. Felt like it has just come out of the factory.

2. Porsche 993 3.6 Turbo - 14 of them ever made. 1050kg and 380Bhp. Timed it on the straight 0-100km/h in 4 secs

That's the very same 924...

Sure it was a 993 Turbo 3.6?

They had 408 bhp not 380 bhp out of the box, so seems strange to do a detuned one. Standard car does 0-100kmh in about 3.8 secs, so 4 is good, but not better than stock...

1050 kgs sounds interesting though...

Maybe it was a stripped out 993 with an old 965 Turbo 2 380 bhp engine in?

Nurburgring is a classic circuit. Very challenging and memorable.

That's what the owner says and he has a business restoring vintage cars i.e no reason to bs me. I mean the guy has a 908LH undergoing work in his garage!

It is a Cabrio...I timed it using the Chrono on my wrist watch, so I guess I might be off the mark little bit

Maybe he meant 380bhp at the wheels in which case it's anything but de-tuned!!

Lucky sod

If it was a GTS then they only made 59 (according to the 944 FAQ) with 245bhp and weighing 1060kg. The GTR was basically the Le Mans car with 375bhp weighing 945kg There were 15 of them. A nice 'stealth' track car for 17,000 Euro

993 Turbo cab with 380 bhp? It does't sound quite right (although I may be wrong, so find out more if poss). I suspect it could have been the run out 930 Turbo limited edition, which they only made a few off - if it had upright headlights and slatted air intakes in the rear wheel arches, and 380bhp would be a sensible upgrade for that engine.

Are you positive it was 993 shape?

Cheers
