Hi all,

A total newbie but have been checking out the posts in this forum and it all seems very useful to me! Found out what the Valet button does amongst other things!

But - my Keyfob is not overly responsive, tried the new batteries etc and i do see a few advertised on ebay, so any ideas on how much it is likely to cost to get it re-programmed for my car (assume a dealer has to do it?)

Anyone had experience of the online tyre dealer blackcircles.com?

Cheers all!

Key fobs are not the best, seem to have limited range even with new batteries.

Reprogramming is not a dealer job

Try this:

Fit new batteries to the transmitters
Turn ignition off and hold headlight flasher back
Turn key to position 1
Flash headlights 4 times

Alarm will now enter programming mode. Will be confirmed by beeps from the alarm and flashing LED security indicator on gearlever console.

Programme each transmitter - you can do up to 5 - by pressing the lock or unlock button on each transmitter once

The alarm should sound when you press the tranmsmitter buttons

The alarm must sound 5 times to sucessfully complete the programming. So, if you're only programming one transmitter you must press the lock or unlock button 5 times. If you're programming two press one set of buttons three times and the other twice. If you have 5 tramsmitters then press the buttons once on all five..

Should do the trick

DIRTY BUTTONS !!!!
Nothing personal, take the remote apart, remove the rubber pad from the circuit board, and clean the contacts with a cloth and something like brake cleaner, or white spirit. Only use a very SMALL amount. That might help.

Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser (rubber). Mildly abrasive and works great.

Cheers all for the suggestions - very much appreciated!

Thanks for your assistance in this, will let you know how i get on.

As for the car, what a genuinely nice car to drive and stand a chance of enjoying the diabolical english roads again, the comfort, lack of noise and overall pleasure it gives when you start the car is great.. not to mention a bargain too!
