How hard can it be to make a tweaked variation of an existing car?!?

VW have just told me that the R36 has been delayed, again, until Oct 2008 delivery - therefore orders will not be taken, or in my case confirmed, until July.

Gaaaaaahh!

They seem to be getting worse.

We've got 3 Passats on order from late August - still not here.

Saw an R36 estate in Spain last month at the Tiguan launch - looks really good. Is it worth the wait though?

They've been banging on about the R36 since November 2005!!!

Will it be worth it?

Well, even a cooking Passat is good car, that much is certain. £28,000 for a 300bhp, 4wd, DSG 'class-leading' saloon seems pretty fair to me.

A 335i of similar spec, for example, is up past £40,000. Hot Vectras and Mondeo don't have auto/semi-auto transmission and depreciate like anvils down a well.
