OK time for me to keep digging, as noone else seems to be coming forward.
I have just had a conversation with Kevin Musson who is the organiser along with his wife of the Newark Kit Car Festival 2008.
To cut a long story short - they would love to have us there, they are very much encouraging classic cars, TVR's etc that are not 'Kit Cars'.
It also means less work for me.
This takes place on the 21st & 22nd June, thats right 2 days, and they have camping facilities on site should you wish to stay for the 2 days.
All TVR's and drivers will get in free provided you park in the TVR area and not the public car park - although if you have a passenger they will have to pay. You can come and go as you please during the day.
Anything we want to set up like suspension geometry demo, rolling road etc can all be accomodated.
I felt it was a very positive conversation with Kevin.
Whats your view - good or bad please.
I have been to the show before and its pretty big with lots of stands, and the venue is easy to get to being near the A1/A46.

Hi Chris, good to see you've escaped from your garage 
I would have no problems with this idea. I think the location is good in that it is central and close to majoe routes. It is also easy to find.
I like the idea of something else to do (looking at other cars) as quite long events after a long journey must get a bit tiring for other halfs, kids and some guests (tiring, never boring).
The only down side I can think of is gusets paying, but I doubt that would be a significant problem. Although I'm close, I'd probably stay over. Also, be happy to help on the day.

PS well done for kicking this off again.
It's suppose to be a very good location although I beleive last year's kit car show turned into a Glastonbury-style mudfest due to the exceptionally heavy rain.
It is a great location and there's also a good aircraft museum just up the road. I live about 45 minutes away, so count me in!

Unfortunately there is a good chance (although not a certainty) this will clash with the 25th TVRCC Continental Meeting at Zolder.
Obviously finding venues and free dates is difficult and not everyone can be accommodated. I thought it worth mentioning though as Zolder is one amazing weekend, and one I try not to miss

I've emailed Nick Kay in the TVRCC events team to try and confirm.
I think if they do clash there's not much we can do.

Sounds really good, i like the idea of camping on the fri/sat. Get the barbie and the beers out bring it on . . . .
