I also did my 1st spotted since I've had a Monaro.

Spotted a Red Monaro going north stuck in the traffic like me on the M1 around Luton on Saturday 6/1/08 plate starting with S555. I pulled in behind you, my wife commented on how common my is wink

I was in a silver Monaro taking it to Motobodies.

Should hopefully pick it up today, it has the following probs.

1) Horn didn't work, kept blowing the fuse
2) Water leaking in under the rear passenger footwell
3) Speedo sometimes going mad (displaying 200mph when the digital displays 40mph)
4) MPH light too bright (ok not a major problem but there's a legit fix for it)

I was very nice to them giving them the instructions from the LTO site on how to fix 3,4

Ahhh just phoned Motorbodies seems there waiting on a part which isn't stocked in the UK and will take 7-10 days, they talked about replacing the courtesy car (Meriva) with somethings a bit bigger.

Think I might just take the car back and take it back in when the part comes in.

Speedometer MPH Indicator Too Bright (Reduce MPH Indicator Brightness Using Tech 2) #04-08-49-023 - (Sep 10, 2004)
Speedometer MPH Indicator Too Bright (Reduce MPH Indicator Brightness Using Tech 2&#174wink
2004 Pontiac GTO

Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 4L299640

Condition
Some customers may comment that the MPH indicator on the speedometer is too bright during night driving and that it does not dim with the IP lamps.

Correction
Follow the procedure below using the Tech 2® to reduce the brightness of the speedometer MPH indicator. This procedure must be followed exactly.

Important
The Tech 2® must contain software version 24.005 or later available from Techline® starting July 2004, on the TIS 2000 version TIS 07/2004 data update or later.

Install the Tech 2® to the vehicle and power on.
Select "Diagnostic" from the menu.
Build the vehicle from the menu options.
Select "Body" from the menu.
Select the correct transmission type.
Select "Instrument Panel Cluster" from the menu.
Select "Special Functions" from the menu.
Select "Programming" from the menu.
Select " Instrument Configuration" from the menu.
Press Enter.
Press "Change Data". Even though the screen deals with tire size and speed pulses, the data stream changes the MPH indicator brightness.
Warranty Information
For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:

Picked up my Monaro last night seem the part came in.

Seem the technician couldn't dim the mph as he reckoned it wasn't an option on Tech 2, anyone else managed to get it dimmed via Tech 2?
