Guys,

I really like the look of the Mazda front lip spoiler on the Mk.1

lick

I think it really butches the car up and I understand it aids high speed stability.

I have also heard that they are very expensive and hard to get hold of frown

Anybody know what the deal is with them? Anybody do copies/replicas?

My current one has one and has better stability than my old one, even though it's only held on by a self-tapping screw at one end and a rivet at the other. I bashed it off the front step of my house when parking the other day and the screwed end came off. It was only when I decided to remove it because I prefer the look without that I realised it had been riveted so I carefully re-inserted the self-tapper. It hasn't fallen off yet.

They work because that's the way the cars were designed to be. Mazda in their wisdom decided not to fit them on production cars for some reason, probably financial so they could charge extra for them as aftermarket add-ons.

You should have bought a Mk2, the lip only costs £40 from Mazda! I've just had to replace mine; they do make a difference to the handling. I don't know why the mk1 is so much more (although it is a bit more of a substantial piece of kit).

You should've bought a Mk2.5. They don't need a lip spoiler at all laugh

I want an Elise!

Have a read through here...

Phoenix Fives

One of our lot bought one just recently. I have one on mine, and really think it adds to the appearance of the car.

That car in the pic belongs to Mikey from the mx5ocforum. Its a lovely car, and I love his wheels (Rota Cups), and considered them myself the last time I was buying new tires. Decided in the end to stick with my BBS for the time being.
