just test drove a new wrx......

anyone else had a go in one?

definately quick but so quiet and feels so easy to drive. in comparison i drove a 2.5xt forester - ok not as quick but much much more fun ;-)

If you want to do some very very mild greenlaning (lack of ground clearance) or go across the odd muddy field or farm track then the Forester is perfect for that, as well as having pretty good/tall load lugging capability. I know a few horsey types that pull single horse boxes along farm tracks and over fields when going to events and they swear by them.

However....if 99% of your driving is on the road and you like to press on go for a WRX sportwagon as that has pretty decent load lugging capability too, and will also tow your boat (if you have one) very easilywink I would rather be in the WRX when pressing on as i find the Forester rolls just a little too much for me and i think it would be easy to get up on 3 or 2 wheels if provoked suddenly. I have driven both back to back and although the Forester was very comfy, my driving is 99% on road and i like to press on a bit so it was the WRX for me biggrin

Im thinking about taking one of these for a test drive, not because i fancy one, well not the WRX anyway, but because i want to see how it measures up to the previous WRX.

Hey, totally off subject, i just had a thought, even the saloon "newage" cars can be refered to as classics now next to the new model!!

To tell the truth, i wouldnt be suprised if values start to become more stable. The new model doesnt have the same appeal as the previous models and there are those who just dont see a hatchback as the original rally star.

I think it's quite ironic really, i've spent 15 years racing around in hot hatches. Then one day i thought i'd better grow up a bit, so i bought a scooby then they go and re-design it and bugger me it's a hot hatch. i'm not too keen on the new shape, but i am going to the autosport show so when i see it in the flesh with wrc war paint i might change my mind.
