As a newbie here I would firstly like to say hi. I've looked at this site a lots in the past and have finally joined up! Now I find out there is bikers on here too, I thought it was cars only. I should have joined up ages ago!

I'm moving into the world of full time photography. Up to now I've been shooting motor and action sports but this year myself and another photographer are looking to build a car portraiture portfolio. This means we're on the hunt for some good looking cars. We're currently looking along the lines of the modern luxury/sports car like Porsche, Mercedes etc due to the location ideas but really any highly polished luxury could be useful. Particularly looking for a convertible too.

I'm afraid there's no budget for this but in exchange for shooting your car you get some sweet images. These shoots may either be on location or in a studio.

So if think you might be up for this drop me a line or give me a call.

Welcome to PH! Enjoy your stay!

I'm afriad you won't want to photograph my motor, it's too old, too common and too damaged! mad Careless twunts who don't know the length of their own car! Grrrr

Anyway, do you have any samples of your work? Other than the Focus WRC car on the site?

Cheers,
Andy

P.S. If anybody would like to drop their car off to me for a day's photography, please feel free! Preferably weekends though, will call you when it's done! wink

Well I have an old Excel and a properly knackered Toyota pickup, so no help here I'm afraid :-) You're in the right place to see some very interesting cars though, so do post the results for us to see!

yes

In many ways its better to shoot 'normal' cars for portfolio work, as it allows the photographers vision to come to the fore. Exotic/luxury cars can dominate the photo and you could end up niching yourself too much.

Yep normal cars too, we wouldn't rule them out. Interesting note about niching yourself. We need to bare that in mind.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Central London. We're building up a list of what cars can be available and will set them into locations. We'll give you a shout in the next few weeks if thats cool?

Hi Andy, Up to know all my car photography has been in motorsport hence the reason for building a new portfolio. I've quickly pulled together some random images I've shot over the last few months. It's mostly motorsport but it'll give you an idea of what I've been up to: http://www.mikedodd.co.uk/photos/Albums/temp_portf...

I'd offer my blue MX5 (picture in profile). Generally looks filthy so prior warning is required to get the shine back smile

Live in Berkshire but work in Kingston Upon Thames/Surbiton.

Mine could be done with a clean (and the exhaust bracket fixed) but apart from that if it's of any interest to you.

My two are in the profile.
