To me this looks good, in principle, but I would like to know a few more things about it before I rush out and buy one.

1, Can you shoot and send straight to laptop/PC (when within range)? IE, a live link to laptop/PC?
2, Will it connect direct to a laptop through the wireless connection, or do you need a router as the middle medium?
3, Will it be available in other card formats?

Having a quick read of the info here it seems a good solution, and if the above points are positive then i suppose they will sell well, it seems Lexar are getting behind them so shouldnt be long till we get upgraded versions. A little longer range might be good also.

Sounds ideal for studio work.

I think they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they din't bring out a CF version, or at least an adaptor. (I don'e care really...my camera takes both tongue out)

Having looked at the website, I now know that SD cards are CF compliant (well according to the website) so I am now looking for a decent adaptor to take my 2Gb SD cards and use them in my Canon 400D. Anyone know of any (sorry for the hijack but still sorta on theme)?

Don't see why not - it's just a wireless version of tethered shooting really.

The only concern I'd have is the speed.

I would like to hope thats how it works, as oppose to shooting on the card and then having to dump them from the card onto the computer, and I cant see anywhere that says if it links to the wireless link of a laptop, or into your wireless network through the router.

i am thinking that this is just the 1st generation version, so in time we will probably get it how I have said, hopefully.

If it takes off, I guess the camera manufacturers will offer it on the body. If its cheap enough to put in a card, its cheaper to do it once in a body!

Yeah maybe, except Canon, where it's an 'add on' at a cost of hundreds hehe

Sounds like a bit of a gimmick to me.

If I put a 4gig CF in my 40D, I can take pics 'til the cows come home and upload by just plugging the damn thing in.

What would I need a "slow" and "corruptible" wifi card for. You'd have to carry a switch-on laptop in a rucksack if you went anywhere worthwhile!

Rubbish! The Brink has spoken. coffee
