Chaps and chapettes, I need help (so I'm told).

I need to know about French versions of Travel Lodges.

I need to book one in Reims on the Sunday night after the race and then another in Cambrai on the Monday.

I'm useless at this stuff. Help!

You want something like a Formule 1 (sp?) - room and hand basin with shared toilets/showers down the hall (note take marker pen to write the room code (keyless entry) on your arm if you struggle to remember numbers like me )

Or an Ibis (think they'll be on that accor link. Slightly more expensive but with bog/shower in room.

Or a Campanile, similar to the Ibis usually have good food.

Doug and Piglet are right, in my experience. I travel occasionally in France and always use Ibis (preferred) or Campanile. Campanile are acceptable and most have an on site restaurant. Rooms are basic but have the facilities you expect. Ibis are usually a bit better and some are of a pretty good standard; not all Ibis have evening restaurant facilities. The Ibis website is user friendly, in English, and you can book and pay online. A single room is currently around 59 Euros.

if it helps, I've stayed at the holiday inn in Reims . There's a couple in the city, and i stayed in the cheaper one. Parking opposite the hotel was good, no air con in the rooms though. Our friends stayed in the more expensive one, but I'd happily stay in the cheapy again
