I may and/or may not have done something silly to damage the boot opening solenoid mechanism, but I may just have blown the fuse. Does anyone have a better way of trying to work out whether a fuse is blown and which one it is other than just taking each fuse out and checking it? Can I narrow it down to a specific amp fuse?

Thanks in advance.

The handbook should list the fuse locations, they have varied a bit over the years...

You can hotwire 12v to the back of the switch - it just pulls out.

Pull the switch out, ignition on and check if one side is live, if one is live then supply/fuse is good.

I ended up pulling them all out and they were all fine. I had in fact damaged the solenoid, so have replaced that with the 2W unit from maplins. Job done. Thanks for your comments.
