Hi Kev,

Not exactly near Cambridge, but PH East Anglia region have a monthly meet at lunch time on the last Sunday of each month.

We have been meeting at Tostock near Bury St Edmunds, but are currently on the look out for a new venue in the same sort of area. Keep you eye on here as I will be posting up details of this months meet in about a week or so.

Also, if your interested I can add you to our email list. That way you will get an email shot of anything comming up in our PHEA region.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ian, i've been reading the threads regaring the Tostock meeting, the only downside is I have to travel from Huntingdon to Lakenheath Mon to Fri, & I try to avoid the A14 @ the weekends, A guy needs a break from the monotany..biggrin

Will try to pop along to one of your meetings soon though, i'll keep watching the site.

Kevv.

No you're not, I commute past your car every day biggrin Its hard to miss with all the stickers...

I'm in Huntingdon and I'd thought a couple of times about seeing if there's any other PHers in the close area wanted to meet up. Just never got round to posting. Let me know if anything gets organised.

There's always the Pistonheads East Anglia meet at Hawstead, near Bury St Edmunds, on Sunday 27 January - as per the sticky at the top of this forum. I know it's not next door to everybody, but the region stretches from Kings Lynn to Colchester and we have to allow for this. PLease come along if you want a trip aout, and meet the regular gang/usual suspects!

I don't think that the intent is create a mutinous breakaway group, just to enable a local sub-group that is nearer, to supplement the main meetings. From my perspective, as I work away a lot, a local sub-meet would be welcome as the time to get over to the main ones would eat up quite a bit of a weekend,

Hard bit for us in St Neots/Huntingdon area is that we're on the very edge of (but never really in) several regions - Herts/Beds, Northants, E-Anglia. Never any truly local meetings round our way.

Bit tied up this weekend heading off to Redcar for the missus's dad's 80th, but how about a meeting soon then around Huntingdon?

A couple of venues with a bit of character, food and beer near Huntingdon that immediately spring to mind with a decent amount of parking available are:

Three Horsehoes pub in Houghton village opposite Malcolm Beer's MG garage

Three Horsehoes pub in Abbots Ripton

Anyone have any other thoughts?

Three Horsehoes pub in Abbots Ripton sounds good, they seem to have plenty of parking (arh and it is close to me too). I have seen a Seven's meet there once. Are you thinking a weekend or an early evening do? As the days are getting lighter an evening event would appeal greatly!

It would be good to get out but can someone bring some Sun

Abbots Ripton sounds good plenty of parking.

George at Spaldwick nice venue limited parking

Windmill, Somersham can get busy

Mad Cat Pidley reasonable car park but more suited to a summers evening.

No problem at all, I just wanted to make sure you weren't trying to organise something that was already organised! PHEA isn't a club, just a group of individuals that happen to be going the same way every so often. It's already a mutinous sub-group hehe
