I'm still in Exige research stage...so pardon me...don't know much about this car.

At this stage, I will only buy Exige with 240hp. According to Lotus, they were able to get 240hp by using a larger injectors, redesign or position the roof scope to get more airflo to the intercooler and re-mapped the ECU.

My question, what is the stock boost of EXIGE s? Did they raise the boost to get 240hp or maintain the stock boost and still get 240hp?

Is it possible to enlarge the pulley (between supercharger and engine pulley) to gain more boost and the re-mapped ECU accomudate the air fuel mixture?

My understanding is the throttle doesn't open all the way on the 220hp.

They needed a 5th injector to get 243 hp out of the original 240r's. The big problem with those is that they don't meet emission controls, hence the 220 was the emmisions friendly route. The more efficient roof scoop, injectors and some ecu tweaking enables it to meet emissions and produce just about 240.

To understand what you are saying...the 220 also fitted with 5th injector
when you buy 'em?
Since they re-designed the roof scope to supply good amount of cold air to the intercooler, the 220hp series capable of producing 240? How?

The only way to get 240 is to raise the boost. If the charge is lower, its capable of putting 2 to 4 more psi boost. Back to my question, will the ECU mapped to 2 or more pound of boost (without detonating)?

Can someone tell me the stock boost of the Exige S ?

That's correct 65%

Worth considering a supercharger kit for a n/a Exige, for example the Katana kit is pushing out that sort of power figure. You'll keep rear visibility, too.

It'sa very professional piece of kit - I've driven one and it's as well-managed as an Exige S

Why only consider a 240bhp car?? I went from a 343bhp hatch back to a 220bhp Exige and must say I don't think I need the extra power, or would notice it.

The larger brakes would be nice but their a £1500 part anyway, and you'll be able to get a 220bhp car running 240bhp easy with a few mild tweeks.

One thing to point out, the ECU Lotus use is encrypted and despite what everyone may say, general remapping is not freely available.

I went from a 355bhp coupe to a 220bhp Exige and I know I don't need any extra power - sub 100 the Exige is faster.

I just wish it had something approaching an acceptable build quality?

How much are these kits and who fits them? Would any other mods be needed ie brakes?

Sinclaire fit the Katana Supercharger, cost is somewhere between £3-4K (can't remember off the top of my head).

There are a few other kits around, although I haven't driven any others, so couldn't tell you what they're like.

As for brakes, put some Pagid pads on, they'll give you much better braking performance. There's always the opportunity to upgrade to the AP system later on - Bogie and I think SimonK both have this fitted to their cars.
