Chrome details on xjr?

I am looking at a ´95 xjr, but it has got a chrome grille and also the boot lid is chrome. Was this an option when new, or is it an evidence of a bad repair job after an accident....?

I have a '95 XJR - the grille should have a body coloured surround with silver mesh inserts. If it has a chrome surround it's the wrong piece. Not necessarily due to accident damage: maybe a previous owner preferred them but wanted XJR performance? Not sure what you mean by the boot lid being chrome, but I'll assume you mean th etrim across the back that houses the badge/boot release button. If so, that's chrome on mine too and is correct for an XJR.
