Well my daily car is suffering from a bad oil leak and I have some miles to do up and down country over the next week, ive been reluctant to get the 430 out with so much crap on the roads and the heavy rain of late but its now an inforced decision, hire car or just think sod it and use it! I didnt buy it to look at, but at the same time hoped not to be sat on the M60 in driving rain and stanstill traffic. I know what most of you will say on here, but just wondering if there are any other 430 drivers using them for the daily commute at the mo. (Fully expect you lambo boys to give me some stick for this thread by the way....)

What's the range on that car, could you get to Southampton on a single tank?

Why not? They are designed for all weather conditions and it won't do any harm to it what so ever smile Obviously its going to need a good clean, but that's it...

+ if you go by any round abouts, you will be able to have some fun in the wet wink

Cheers, there is of course the image factor...not sure how good it looks pulling up outside a customers in a fezza but I guess im gonna find out. I remember reading a marketing magazine many years ago that advocated driving a car that prompted conversation if you had a meeting with new potential clients etc as an ice breaker. They suggested something people associate with like a classic MGB...not sure where a 430 fits in with that logic!?

You could tell them its a Fiat? hehe

Depends what business you're into? You don't want to risk the client thinking you have enough money already, why are you charging us so much ect...

Could also be a deal sealer, let them have a spin, in return for closing the deal biggrin

I guess I could ask how you would feel if you had a problem with your boiler and your plumber turned up in his Murcielago. Or similar for your business's suppliers.

You could ask me that and personally I would like it if they turned up in a murci! However I wont risk it and will be leaving it at the hotel and taking a cab as in normal circumstances i wouldnt be taking the F at all. I'll be honest, I cant think of an occasion when having an exotic car has actually helped me personally in business but I do believe most do look at your car, then prob your watch??...

p.s webber3 - my guess 1.5 - 2 tanks

Now I'm gonna have a wild stab in the dark here, but as far as I recall, last tiem I looked a ferrari 430 was a CAR.

Cars are meant to be driven, get out and drive it and stop polishing it!

The Gallardo was great in the slush the other morning, granted the traction control was busy, but thats what it's there for!

Bertie, fully agree and I admit to being a little cautious partly due to the weather and grit on the roads etc - I certainly dont sit and polish my cars as I know some do. I have put 120k miles on a 993 that I use every day but the 430 just makes me think a little before taking it out

Only two problems with using the 430 everyday:

1. Crap stereo
2. car is actually quite hard to drive fast on snow/ice --- Lamborghini is much better on ice
