After happily riding in all weathers for the last few years in My Frank Thomas Aquapore Advanced suit - I have been lovely and warm, and dry in all bad weather.

Unfortunately the trousers gave up the ghost earlier this year, and I decided to stick to what I know - and the jacket was still fine - and bought a replacement pair of Frank Thomas Aquapore trousers. What a mistake to make! After riding in through the monsoon weather today - I could feel the water licking at my balls within 10 mins of being on the bike!

Add to the hole in my left boot - really was not very pleasant this morning.

Don't buy these trousers and expect them to be waterproof - I am going to have to start wearing waterproofs over the top from now on.

Send them back, they'll replace them with out quibble..You may have just got a bad pair, nothing to lose either way.

Is worth a try....... trouble is they were bought in Summer.

However the shop is normally pretty good - will have a chat with them when I go to pick up some bits from there over the weekend.

Found the problem with the waterproofs - as I have just turned them inside out to fit the "removeable" lining in. The "fixed" lining has all ripped on the front - in the bollock region - that makes sense as that is where the leaking started - the rest of the leaking must have come from here, and just run down my legs.

I will try the return to shop/Frank Thomas - but think they will say this is wear and tear - or I am too fat!

try? Dont go in their with a defeatist attitude my man, be polite but firm , state your case (sounds like a manufacturing defect to me?)then simply be quiet and wait for them to say what they are going to do for you.

I wouldn’t expect anything less than an exchange mate.

Frank Thomas have an excellent returns policy; it's the only way people still buy their kit a second time.
For water "proof" read water "resistant."
I have never known such cak gear.

Don't worry - came across more defeatist in text than it will do in real life!

I went into the shop today where I bought trousers from, and without any argument they agreed to replace them. Unfortunately they did not have the trousers in stock so have had to order - but they will be in within 14 days.

They even gave me 10% off of the price of some Alpinestars Jet Road Goretex gloves for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the idea Podman as I would have probably just put up with it and worn waterproofs!
