Lotus Elise SC first drive in Car Magazine
Discussion
Interesting that the mags all say pretty much the same about the Elise range and that is that the S is the best all round package. I bet if you asked any of them to live with the lower power car for any period of time they'd soon get frustrated by the lack of grunt though.
Nice to see Lotus responding to demands for more power and maintaining interest in the car

I have just had the roof off my Exige S to solve a leak and a creak and thought it would be rude not to go for a quick razz "al fresco".
I'm not really into the whole convertible thing, but must say I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The wind noise and "open acoustics" took away some of the crash/bang nature of the Exige and it all seemed a bit more pleasant/smooth. A bit like an Elise SC I would't doubt?
I should think the Elise SC will prove to be the Elise (S2) they always should have put out there (Boxster S slayer!) and the Exige S should always have had the 240bhp, they can obviously so easily liberate, to keep its' racing image over the Elise?
Marketing I suppose?
BTW - the creak is solved (
) so out to wash it and check the leak !
