Breakdown cover
Discussion
Am I right in assuming you only get one year breakdown cover from new on a Monaro VXR ? (The cars is 12 months old at the end of January) if that's correct, what do you peeps do, just forget it or take out an alternative, I haven't kept a car for this long for a few years now......I usually get bored.
Ohmegod Demon, have you really had it that long?
Warranty/recovery lasts for twelve months, but is renewable for up to three years or 60,000 miles when serviced by Vauxhall agents - they inform Vauxhall and they in turn renew breakdown cover (or something like that). That was the reason that I took mine to Groses, rather than to either of the two others that I would prefer to have used.
Ps. Did I see you last Saturday on the A509 - are you running on a V8 personalized plate? I was running in stealth mode; my wife's blue VW Golf

The car was registered at the end of January but I bought it at Easter time with 37 miles on it and now it needs it's first service so I've booked it into Groses with a free courtesy car etc.
Yes it was me on the A509, that must be my first spotted. he he.
You chaps are right about the extra cover, I found it in the handbook, it gets renewed at the first service at an authorised Dealer. Maybe I should have read the book in the first place but it's easier asking you boyz....
Cheers

Hi All,
Well, got my second service today at Pentagon Rochdale, excellent service from them again. The service guys says that Vauxhall stopped offering the break down cover Sept 2006 which is odd as I got the secon year last February - got a letter telling me was renewed.
How can Vauxhall stop supplying this without notification, I could have had a break down and then called the AA to be told tough and thats just crazy. Can either Caspy (I realise now Wortec or Stuart or some one say anything official on the matter ?? Or should I just call Vauxhall and waste my time ??
Cheers

The 3 year breakdown cover did indeed stop for cars registered from 1st Sept 2006. If you upgraded the warranty to unlimited mileage (£99 I think) you got extended breakdown cover. The selling retailer should have communicated this at the point of sale. It was in Vx literature from Sept 2006 as well. I know it wont get you covered, but they are the facts. Sorry.

how much was the extended network q if you dont mind me asking
