I've always driven exotic cars, so am used to cars on the road with me doing some stupid things, like driving into me while trying to look at the car as they pass, but I have to say, the CanAm is really a magnet for these yo-yos.
Most of the time I get a beep and a thumbs up and a wave, to which I'm more than happy to give a wave back.
I even thought the other day a young girl was going to fall out the window trying to take a picture. One thing about the short nose of the Utima, I'd be able to see her until she would have gotten to within about 4 feet in front of the car.
I would have to say the most bizzare feat I've had pulled on me this month was a group of these suedo-race looking motorcycles going by, and when they saw the Ultima it seemed to turn on their "stupid mode", because next thing I knew one of them was doing a wheelie beside me at 70 mph, and me wondering if they could actually steer it on one wheel.
Would be interesting to hear some other Ultima related traffic stories.
Jeff, those model poses with the car don't count!!

I've had the same experience with sport bike jockeys. Of course I've never done that when I'm on my sport bike. I've had other competetive encounters while in my GTR with a Vortech supercharched Z28 on Friday, a new viper, and a supercharged 4 valve mustang. Wasn't even close. Ultimas are a rare sight over here, so even Ferarri and Lambo owners wonder what the heck it is.

Guys - I have to say, I'd LOVE to bring the GTR to the USA

My sister lives in Houston TX and it would be a hoot to come over.

Alas, there's no ferry from Dover

Don’t know about bringing out the idiots but I had an incident that nearly caused me to have an accident. I was driving along the other day in my GTR and noticed a lad talking to two girls whilst pointing at the car. As I drove past I looked in my rear view mirror I saw one of the girls Flashing her boobs and waving. Fine pair they were - I'd have turned round but I would have got in trouble off the wife for encouraging them.

The very first time I took the GTR out for a Test run, a Fiesta with 2 lads and 2 lasses in it, mounted the inside of the the Island while looking at me stopped at the junction. But the best thing is that most people pullin and let you past on the motorway, mainly to see what it is I think. Have learned to lip read quite well, but only four letter words though !

After months of claiming to my wife that the Ultima is an enthusiasts car, not a babe magnet, the first time it was parked, she was sitting in her car several cars away when l returned to the Ultima to find a slightly sozzled babe disporting herself over the nearside wing. Fortunately my daughter was with me so l was saved.

Got followed this afternoon right into my driveway by a rather short and very buxom lady with a van full of kids who had to know what kind of beautiful car this was. It was "the most beautiful car she has ever seen."
Fortunately with my wife at home, she wasn't that attractive!!
More later

There is a ferry from Dover, it's call Containeronfreighter!!
I'll meet you in Boston, then you can drive to Chicago to see Jeff Schwartz on your way to Texas.
Mileage would be about 2000 miles one way, and at 98 mph, that would only take you..........Oh,you can do the math!!
