Can anyone post a picture or email me one of how the bonnet stay mechanism should look at the bonnet end when open. I'm sure there is something broken/missing on mine as the end of the stay is digging into the heat insulation material as it is all sloppy where it pivots before letting the bonnet rest, thanks

That's normal. It's one of the reasons why I redesigned it. See here

About 6.25" x 3.25". Big enough to see from the other side of the car but small enough to go on the inner wing.

I brought the V8 Enhancement bonnet stay which is a super bit of kit

I don't have a picture, but on mine there is a rubber grommet on the bonnet part of the bracket through which the rod is passed. This stops it from rattling and digging into the insulation. My original perished but it was very easy to fit a replacement.
