ive asked this in the chimaera section with no joy as yet.

Are all tvr wipers pants/ i have a 93 chimaera, and the very section i look through, gets missed by the wipers.

i have spent over £60 on various makes and types of blades, and ot one wipes this area. ive tried bending the arms, the lot and still nothing. im really fed up, its actually dangerous to use n the wet as i cant see

Many people have fitted the Leven aftermarket wipers and are happy with them.
These seem to be the same on ebay and are a bit cheaper.

they are sht....the washer jet lasted 2 wipes before coming off, they are glued on and the glue fumes has made the plastic white, and they dont touch the bloody screen any better than the others.

this was the first set i bought

Ive just fitted Leven wipers to my Griffith & they're excellent.

I also carry RainX too, so easy to use & it works a treat.

In my experience rain-x ceases to function once you've used the wipers, and i find i have to use the wipers once some crud gets on the screen.

Maybe you had a duff set from Leven? I had originals when I bought mine and changed them very quickly for a Leven set. Since I put them on in Nov last year its been my daily driver and i've found them to be excellent in every grade of rain thrown at them. The passenger side one tends to stick off the edge of the windscreen a little bit but it's never bothered me and doesn't affect their operation at all.

If you can't get them to work however, I have heard that the new type can be used (like on modern VWs etc - I forget the name of the design but the blade and holder are combined into one smart flexible bar which is a lot more flexible than old style wipers so can wrap around to fit the curves of the screen better. Not tried them but it might be worth looking in to?

If you mean the flat blades, i have them on now since yesterday.

crap.

they do appear to be a lot more flexible, yet they still miss this one block of screen right where i look through lol

its as if they know

Potentially if you've changed the wiper blades 3 times and its still rubbish I'd say the problem may not be the blade?

Is the arm in good condition? Is its spring OK?
Is the right arm on the right side?

as far as i know, the arm looks fine. there certainly is enough tension in the arm when i lift it, so one would assume the spring is ok ???

een adjusting the arm, has no effect but i know where your coming from looking at the arm, its baffling me

Make sure the wiper isnt touching the bodywork at all. When I first put mine on I noticed this was happening & it was rubbing the paintwork. A samll adjustment to both wipers so they park a little higher & all is well.

Another vote for rain-x here. Not brilliant at less than 30mph, but a definite improvement.

I put Leven wipers on both my Chimaeras and each suffered the same problem, the spray jet block thingies falling off the wiper arms. Basically crap workmanship.

A tube of thick superglue later each set were cured but at Leven's prices I really don't expect to have to put them together myself.

My (98) wipers weren't that bad, though the screenwash wasn't brilliant.
Have you changed the arms & springs, or just the blades?

I would
o polish the screen 'til your arms hurt
o apply Rain-X
o add Rain-X additive to your screenwash bottle

I wonder whether the fault is the screen rather than the blades.
I have no idea whether this is possible but if the screen has a bow inwards at the point where the wipers are not clearing that would certainly cause a problem.
Also from experience of driving cars to high mileages with the resultant pin marks caused by stones I know that fitment of a new screen has resulted in the elimination of wiper problems. Obviously have no idea of the condition of your screen but might be worth considering.
BTW I had terrible performance from the original blades on my Chim, fitted Leven kit which totally solved the problem
