Best strutbrace?

With this sort of thing, you do get what you pay for. I have front and rear sparco red steel braces, about £70 for the front, and I think about the same for the rear.
Alloy braces are lighter, but there's a reason why Sparco's alloy braces are £140 and Ebay alloy braces are about £30.
Plus, I felt no difference when fitting the rear brace. But I felt a good change when I fitted a convertible underbody brace to the front subframe, which cost me £40 off the 'bay.

It's an official BMW part fitted to all E36 convertibles to reduce chassis flex. It's a big X shaped thing which fits to the front subframe and chassis. It's fairly simple to fit if you have some equipment.
Once you've found where it goes, (it's fairly obvious from conveniently placed flat sections) you need to mark up the mount holes, then drill the chassis/subframe where they meet and insert M8 riv-nuts. Bolt it on and done.
They appear on Ebay from time to time as it's a known mod for track/modified cars.
I've only had it on for about 500 miles, but it's sharpened the turn in a lot, but made the ride a bit more crashy and big potholes can make the wheel twitch a bit. It may have done that previously though, as I've not had the car long.

BMW also used it on the E36 M3 CSL so they must rate it as well. Certainly noticed a difference on mine Looks like this:

Not overly heavy either. The extra mass easily outweighs(!) the weight.
