Can anyone recommend any extended training courses and contacts, possibly residential somewhere away from London, for an intensive introduction to biking for 3 guys who have never sat on a bike before? We are thinking maybe 5 days or so? The idea would be to get as much tuition and practice as possible before hitting the road and hopefully walk away with all relevant test passes etc. We are dreaming of heading off on a European tour in the future, maybe next year, but would like to do the best training we can to start us off on our plan. Any recommendations for us to look into would be great, thanks

Willo,
Would personally recommend doing your DAS around London - its a pretty full-on week anyway, and its not the best sort of week for a mates piss-up every night. Did mine with Think Bike in Coulsdon and it was a busy week smile I'm sure if you ring them up, they'll make sure its just you and your mates doing the DAS.

Doing your cbt would probably be a good starting point to assess how long you will need, though most people do the test in 3 days (2 full days practice, then the 3rd day with some pratice and the test) once the cbt has been obtained, so 4 days in total but the cbt can be done seperate to the test.

if you're thinking of a lads week away, drinking every night then doing the test in the day the cbt will probably change yur mind on that, it requires more concentration and co-ordination to ride a bike than you might think,
if not I apologise

what makes you think you would need extended training before the test?

don't know if it would appeal to you or not but there was a thread a few days ago about a track based training company for the motorcycle test
