The brass hump back fuel pipe over the lower rear wishbone (before the fuel pump) isn't in the right position and therefore both contacts with the wishbone and is straining the short flexis at either end.

I have shortened the flexi coming out of the tank to move the brass pipe back but that is not enough. Is there any reason why I can't replace this set up with one piece of flexi, cable-tied to the chassis upright to clear the wishbone?

Pipe size and rating would be useful as well.

Thanks RC.

Why would TVR have not just used a flexi pipe? WOuld have been easier. Therefore there must be a good reason...

Not much help I know...

That's my worry, but for whatever reason they've done it, it hasn't been done very well.

I would of though some stainless braided flex will give sufficient protection.

I seem to remember that these steel hump pipes were retro fitted to the very early griffs.

I have an early Griff, this has certainly always been fitted with a braided flexi pipe without the hump back with no problems. Cant help with the size though I'm afraid.

12mm or 1/2" 'R' rated pipe seems to do the trick for now, I will upgrade this to some braided hose asap.

Having asked the question....I went and took the pipe off the shelf... SAE J30 R6 suitable for unleaded 1/2 I.D., and humps were fitted so as to stop the pipe breaking off the screw-in fuel tank fitting when the suspension goes into full compression.

Thanks Adrian, I that's exactly the pipe I used.

Yes, the brass hump was obviously to avoid the lower wishbone on compression. However my hump was too close to the pump and therefore not clearing the wishbone properly. Also due to the flexis being so short and the tank/pump fittings not being in line they were under permanent stress.

I will try an post a photo of my solution tomorrow.
