I've just ordered a pair of vented disks and will need to widen my 4 pots. The thing is I'm not sure how many spacers will be required. I have found a widening kit at Burton Power which do a set of 4 spacers. However, I looked at the feature on the wedge pages regarding the brake refurb where the featured caliper looks to have used all 4 spacers!!

Can someone let me know how many spacers are required?

Cheers lads

I sure you need to widen them 10mm if you want to use 24mm vented disc's
This is all from memory.

I'm sure there in info on the web-pages.

I'm trying to do the same with my wedge and all the info I have so far gained agrees that 10mm is the gap needed to fill. I got the impression from wedge pages that the supplier they recommend provides 10mm spacers on request, but if you don't specify may supply 8mm if 10mm stock low. In wedge pages they look like 10mm one piece spacers, although on the probably original 450 AP caliper I saw it used what appeared to be 2 5mm spacers. Regards, Mark

Just rechecked those invaluable wedge page articles. Look at the upgrading wedge brakes article rather than the refurbishing article as this gives you a better idea of what you need if you are changing the brake discs rather than refurbishing, clearly showing a single 10mm spacer, 2 needed per caliper.

Maybe it depends on the disk being used??? The princess Calipers were originally used with a special AP Bell & Rotor. This did have 4 spacers per caliper. I suspect the upgrade you are looking at involves a Granada vented disk??? I've no idea if there is a difference in thickness of the disks, but it may explain things. Cheers Steve

I have just had some 12mm spacers made - 25 off in fact! (This was the minimum order) These will need finishing off i.e machining for the seal and drilling out the 3 holes (2 to make bigger and 1 marked for drilling)

If anyone is interested drop me a line

Cheers

Shaun

Rally Design had no 10mm spacers only 8mm in stock. Anyone know any alternative suppliers?
