Thinking of buying the orange and yellow striped saggy at RG

I have for a while been toying with the idea of getting a tvr and originally was thinking of either a t350t or tamora. However to a degree the tamora is a bit feminin looking. The t350 however is pretty much bang on. However racing green have terry grants ex saggy which needs some cosmetics etc done and its at what seems a pretty good price.
Now the problem is that I am a bit of a skinflint when it comes to buying cars and dont like the idea of losing money on them. Terrys car appeals as the price is pretty competitive but i have some minor concerns about how its been driven in the past with regards mech sympathy etc and possibly also due to the price.
Would i be nuts to buy it and spend money fixing her up. Is there an engine or build quality issue with older sagaris. Could I lose money on it at the end of the day i think is what concerns me as it doesnt have one of the fancy shmansy colour schemes its an older car than most.
Any advice thoughts would be much appreciated.

and maybe worth a punt as long as it's not totally shagged .Personally i think the paint job isnt too bad and the yellow stripes are stickers that can simply be pulled off. There are also numerous benefits to the car one being that you can take the headlight covers off really easily to clean them. The car is also able to be used as a track car as well as a road car but appears to be track oriented. The colour scheme could be changed with a full respray but considering the cars history/heritage i feel that would be a step back. There is a possibility of a respray in a slightly/better or new red which i could then re stripe.
Check that the 'full safety cage' does not terminate in the GRP over the rear wheel arches. The normal Sagaris and T350 do just that and I suspect that this one does too. For it to be a 'full safety cage' in my book it needs to terminate on the chassis, not GRP.
It may not bother you, but if the roll cage is a feature that you want then you may not be getting what you think.
I would ask for the diff to be taken out and inspected/serviced as a condition of buying it, as transmissions generally don't like doing donuts and burnouts repeatedly

Presently has a special locked diff specifically for donutting which legally has to be replaced to make it road legal and is part of the sale so wont cost extra. It also has an onboard fire control system with pull mounted in stereo slot. Would cost extra to remove and personally am of the opinion i would rather it stayed and i would look at installing a hidden radio.

Really? I see you used to own a butch Proton Persona, a GL even. Personally I can't think of any TVR ever having looked feminine..

Look in all seriousness the proton was butch as if it was feminin it was THE butchest ever.
I have nothing against the tamora and havent ruled it off the list of potentials but i am see sawing in a huge way at the moment and trying to justifiy each car to myself .
