Hi

It's time for a proper "supercar" I think, and am basically thinking between a 360 Spider and a Gallardo coupe. I like both, I think the Lambo is better looking, but it will undoubtedly be a lot more expensive to run. I've got an RS4 at the moment and an M3 CSL as a track toy, and I want something to basically ponce about in. This is where the Fezza seems a good idea as it's got ponce value written all over it. On the down side I wonder if it will feel slow after the other cars - not in ultimate pace perhaps, but on a B road or the like where you can't rev the guts out of it.

Choices choices. I've also suddenly thought that maybe a Ford GT isn't a bad idea; it's more money than I meant to spend but it will _probably_ lose less.

I like to drive cars so I don't want one too pristine/low miles or I'll be over paying for something I'll "ruin".

Thoughts?

Your right, the 360 is a ponce's car. The G is the proper car cool

Haha well yeah there's that! Can't get the roof down on a lovely day like today in a coupe though, and I've got 2 hard tops already.

Hi Pete,

Stretch to a 430 if you can - fantastic to drive, and great for posing too wink I'd have one over a G all day long, dynamically much sharper. For that matter, I'd prefer a GT too - and I suspect your right about the depreciation factor. The GT is BIG though, I really wouldn't like to pilot one through London - LHD + wide! 360 a great car but not in the same league.

Whatever it is, bring it to a Sunday run later in the year thumbup

Of course, you could just join Ecurie & get your kicks that way.... did it not float your boat?

Hi Steve,

Yes I like the idea of Ecurie - but there is a slight "thing" I guess I have with it which is that it feels a bit fake driving about in someone else's car! I think if I had/have another car myself then that's fine but until you've had your own one then you can't feel like a proper supercar owner! By the time I've signed up to the depreciation on one of these anyway I might as well stump up for Ecurie as well and be done with it smile

430 would be nice but I don't like the coupe looks, and bearing in mind I intend to keep it for probably 12 months, it's a bit too much money - it will lose a whack over that time which the others may less. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong!

GT I only really thought of a few weeks ago because I saw one at Clive Sutton. They've got quite a nice red one for sale, and you can't really argue with 550bhp, but yes LHD and size might be against it......

It's a hard life facing these decisions I know smile

It's almost the same size as a 360 and Diablo's and Murci's are wider. I live in central London and have no issues. Oh and 550bhp is the minimum they come out of the factory with. Most are more, and a simple 1/2 day pulley change that Ford don't mind about gave mine 621bhp...and that's before the free flowing exhaust was fitted.

Best thing in my eyes is the shape won't date like the other cars you're looking at. A car that looked good in the 60's and the 00's will probably look good forever....

Steve you are a bastard. Now you've set me off thinking 430 Spiders and "oh well it's not _that_ much more on the monthly is it....". Think I've found the right one, so insurance willing it will be mine shortly! Bankruptcy beckons, but at least I'll have fun on the way.

hehe You know its right. Just dont drive one if you've got any thoughts of trying to back out of it - you will want one after you've been behind the wheel! wink

G'day Jonny,
how's life? Long time no see. Should go for a spin when I've got the new car! Having slight manual vs F1 traumas at the moment, I want a manual but being told not to on the basis of being able to sell it again.
Still got the Lambo?

Cool. CGT not a bit - err - unusable about town? Would be nice to see one go though! Why the F1? I don't especially like paddle shifters, and though it seems pretty good (better than the CSL's), it's still sort of missing something when you don't get to change yourself.
Hmmm.

However the downside of a manual is that most people seem to think along your lines so getting rid of it could be an issue.
