I wonder if you guys and girls can help me. A frind of mine has one of the above and it has developed a fault:

When he puts his foot down, particularly in high gears the revs shoot up 2000 revs and then come back down before it starts accelerating about 5 secs later - more slowly than it should.

Any ideas? Clutch?

Any idea on how much to fix?

Thank you very much in advance!

Sounds like clutch - if the revs go up and the car goes no where, esp in high gears when the loads are bigger

Sounds to me likr the clutch. It is about 10 hours labour + clutch, if i were him i'd get an uprated clutch and racing flywheel as BM know the standard ones aren't up to that much, or so i was told. The racing flywheel is only a few quid more too.

Good luck

Clutch.

Spenny.

Get the parts from GSF and take it to a 1/2 decent indy to fit. Will be cheaper that way.

And Thorny, what happened to the M5 test drive?

Do the light flywheel while the box is out, Ive done quite a few it's a great mod.
Also dump the CDV while you are in there.

Hello mate,

Loved it but still thinking - weighing up M5 vs RS4 at moment...
