Anyone see the LCD dash conversion for the Elise \ Exige at the Autosport show? Complete kit including carbon back panel, buttons, oil temp sensors etc for circa £1k fitted.

Looked really good, carbon effect surround and everything in blue back lit display, panel was showing gear indicator, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel, revs, speed etc. Apparently road legal and you can configure it from a PC if you want to change anything.

Tempted, very tempted, apart from anything else on my last S1 the stack unit failed which is quite common apparently and that cost be £800 just to replace it.........

Hmmm, if it's anything like the Stack ones it'd be seriously interesting.

It was on the track-club stand, although I think there was another company involved in the development but I can't remember who, spoke to them today to order one, the dash is the Race-Technology Dash2, handily it plugs straight into a DL1 and gives you real and predictive lap times when on track. They are doing me an insall for both into my S1. Speak to Stephen at info@track-club.com or 01480 477 000

That's the one but they had it already mounted in an Elise instrument binnacle and it came with all of the wiring loom to plug and play and the buttons you need etc

They did a demo for me of the configuration from PC which was impressive, really easy to change stuff on it. That said if I was any good with wiring then £400 for a second hand one if it works might be a good idea.

I'll post some pics up of this shortly as it's currently going in a blue S1 Elise Trophy car

Sounds very good, how tidy was the fit?

The mounting surrounds are still being refined but it looks very nice in the car, there will be a plain black GRP surround option as well as a more expensive carbon kit, that said the dash looks so good lit up you could probably nail it to bit of plywood and it would look great!

I asked them if it'd fit in my MSC Honda with the Hondata and they say they haven't done it yet but it won't be a problem for them.

I've had a good chat with the company doing this today and it sounds like it does everything you could need.

I have agreed to be the guinea pig for the Honda cars in a couple of weeks time so we'll see what happens.
