for what reason is this? it would bring some colour and personality to some of the posts and users!

Because PH pages render quite slowly as is without adding a load of boocks. PH has by far the best layout of the forums I use and epitomises the KISS principle.

Besides, I reckon the colour and personality of PHers comes across well enough as it is, without resorting to gimmicks.

Dearie me, I hope not.

They're messy, cluttered, and block up most of the page with their gaudy colours, epilepsy fit-inducing flashing and daft slogans that really should be left to Christmas cracker 'jokes'.

Definitely don't need them.

If you want a signature, just type it in each time. When you have done that a few times you will realise how useful they are.
