I have fitted a Momo Champion wheel to my 1981 S3 and you dont need to get a new boss. Just unscrew the 6 hex bolts that hold the OEM wheel (it is a Momo) to the OEM boss and fit the new wheel on to it.

I put the Millenium on my 97 GT3 but couldn't do a straight swapped with the issued Momo wheel. The fitting are different. Momo made the standard whell as a one off for Lotus.

Momo don't make bosses for the Esprit, I had to buy one machined from a company in the states. (Claudius?) I can find out for you. The other way round it was to buy a the boss and the Momo steering wheel for the GT350. Lotus were charging over £300 for a £60 wheel!!!

The part from the states was just just over $200.

Thanks mate, in view of yours and hillys comments above could it be that its just different on the s4's to the s3's? or could it be that the 81 model wheel is different from the 86?

Brett,
Where I work we sell MOMO wheels and the hub looks the same as my OE MOMO wheel. As Hilly said, just remove the hex bolts. If you haven't purchased a new wheel yet and would like to go through me, I would be glad to help any way I can. Are you in the U.S?

Cheers,
Robert

My hub on the GT3 looks the same, but beleive me, it's not! Not saying yours insn't. Just be prepared! The holes were slightly out. Done deliberately. The Momo millenium looks good and is smaller, no more catching hands on knees when turning the wheel.

Well today a funny thing happened..i bought a new chrome gearknob from Halfords which came with a rather handy allen key, after fitting the gear knob i noticed the allen key was the same size for the steering wheel, so there i was in the Halfords Car Park undoing my steering wheel. I popped in to check the size of the holes against the millenium wheel and 'voila' it matched. I bought it there and then and fitted in back on in the car park with the same allen key. Now the car looks mighty fine and as you say no more rubbing hands on the knees.....

Thanks again guys
