from my SuperBike mag flyer

work PC wont let me onto youtube but the vid is on there for viewing now..

"We tested a Ducati 848, Suzuki GSX-R750, Triumph Daytona 675 and Honda CBR600RR on road and track at Almeria and had a fine time (well, you would, wouldn’t you?). The weather was great, the track was lovely and snapper Graeme Brown got some beautiful pics for the mag.

We also filmed a bit of video footage of Dave Smith (Suzuki) and Simon Roots (Ducati) having a bit of a play and, in the spirit of cheering you up, we’ve uploaded it on to our SuperBike mag YouTube channel. "

How do i break this to you 996...the GSXR wee weed on it...and get this, the Gixer was last years model and not even the new one...you can pick the 750 K7 up for 3 thousand pounds cheaper than the list price on a 848...You've gotta really want the 848 to pay that premium for style and noise..

having said that, someone who wants an 848 isnt really in the market for last years GSXR750 i imagine

With the saving made on your next Duke service/breakdown you could afford the above or a new Arai?

Amusingly enough, my 848 should arrive in April. Then I'll have both sat in my garage biggrin

Nice vid.

The 750 seems to have the legs in one particular gear, looks to me like the Duc is in a slightly higher gear.

The 750 is definatly getting raped in the corners and one the brakes.

To be honest i am surprised the 848 can stay with the 750 so easily (assuming both riders are of similar standard)

I would have thought a 600 would be more on pace but not a chance looking at that.

an 848 will be about as quick as a very modern 600 i would have thought, given they have very similar power/weight.

In a straight line, the 750 is far more brutal than the 848 but the 848 gives a hell of a lot of confidence in the corners and so easier to push on.
