How bad will the dealer be?

Speaking as an ex car dealer here....
There are any amount of m3s around used for > £50K.
I would imagine a dealer will want to be retailing your car at, say, £48995. They will want a £5000 gross margin, thus they will want your car standing them £43995.
They will either discount their car by £2000, OR add that £2000 onto the value of your car and thus give you £45995 against retail price of yours.
I'd say they'll be giving you around £3000-£4000 back

They need to build in up to £1000 headroom for 'straight sale' discount on the m3 once its on the forecourt, so that brings them back to £2000, £250 for servicing / valeting / conditioning. £250 for salesmans commission when he sells it, brings us back to £1500, which they will have to pay VAT out of, brings us back to £1100 net. Sorry I was only offering him advice - I have only work for BMW for 7 years...
He can argue that a £3K margin is enough as a 57 plate will need minimal spend and he has taken that off the sale price of the cheapest M3 on the market.
p.s I think you'd be suprised at how low the ppu is....
