Inspection II

How much does this cost and what does it involve?

Car is still under AUC warranty so presume i need to go to a main dealer for this.

Its a 2.0 4pot.

my car had an inspection 2 when i got it and the bill was for about £350 from memory and that was for my 328 E36 coupe if that helps

May I ask when that was and was it from a franchised stealer?

I was quoted over £450 for an Inspection 1 on mine.

My 318is (1.9ltr 4-pot) last cost me about £280 for an Inspection II at a main dealer. You don't have to go to a main dealer to maintain the warranty, but you do (IIRC) have to ensure that whoever you use is using genuine BMW parts and is a pukka VAT-registered company.

My 2003 330d is in for an Inspection 2 on Monday.

Main dealer, Nick Whale in Warwick, is charging me £244 for the pleasure. I'm supplying the oil. If I didn't supply the oil it would be £320. The cost differential between the main dealer and the local independent is £17. Not worth not having a BMW stamp in the book IMHO.

The only real pain is that there is nothing that BMW will do that I couldn't do myself.
