reasonably priced heat shielding

Hello guys.

I need to insulate both footwells in the race car from the Exhaust manifolds. I am ceramic coating the manifolds to help but want to apply some approprite shielding to the sides. I want to blt this to the panelwork with small buttonheads so that it is fully removable.

whats the best stuff to use, where to get it etc, probably need about 2 linear foot per side.

Go to a place which specialises in heating systems. They have all sorts of useful stuff. As for ceramic wrap, it's a nightmare if it's that stuff you soak and mould into place. Your pipes will corrode in the blink of an eye and the grit will get into the spark plug threads and then your engine.

Best heat shielding imo is an air gap and a deflector plate. I've had turbo's to worry about

I am camcoating the manifolds.

Its the panelwork of the car I need to heatshield. i have looked in the usual motorsport catalogues and there are about 25 different types of the stuff so not sure which one to use



similar to the stuff on the inner wing of my old griff 500. i want to have it as removable though.
