What the hell is this for?

In the above picture i have ringed a part of the engine that is missing a pipe. Can anyone tell me what this is for please?

It's for your turbo boost control valve.... this definately needs connecting! The actual pipe that fits it is in the picture under the small coolant pipe, you can just see it. It clips into place on the timing belt cover under the coolant pipe. It's the braided pipe, and it's not just a push fit either.. it will need a clip so the boost doesn't push it off. By the way... you must be hearing some sort of hissing noise when on boost.. because it'll be escaping from there! Probably been forgotten after a timing belt replacement.
