The E46 and E92 M3 + the M6 did catch fire a lot under testing, which is why BMW decided to fit them with carbon roof.










No BMWs don't normally catch fire

My 330d at 142k
FBMWSH with new turbo at 100k
Turbo failure followed by engine catching fire. Apparently oil from turbo dropping onto hot manifold.
