lots of people seem to do it but personally i found it a right fag to get the allen key in there - i managed the drivers seat but couldn't get at the screws for passenger! (in an S2)

I was just wondering about this myself - I want to upgrade the rear speakers and dynamat in the holes. Can you get an allen key thingy for a socket set watsit - that'd reach?

This is quite easy (imo!) to do on an S2. I did it last summer when my car had 4 inches of water in it after the floods. Just use the allen keys. As a guide it took two of us about 1 hour to take them out, clean underneath and replace.

Easy enough to do, just 4 bolts to take out with a socket set. Be wary of the little bits that fall off the seat runners though.

i agree it 'should' be easy but i just can't get at the passenger screws as the side bolsters stick out too far... so i gave up smile

Get your self some ball ended ( biggrin ) Allen Keys from Machine Mart for a few quid and you should be fine to undo all the bolts, just make sure you have protected the sides of the chasis tub as its easy to scratch it with the seat runners as you move and lift out the seats.

Cut down an allen key (the short side needs to be around half the original lenght) and you can then use this key on the front passenger bolt closest to the door. The other three are easily accessible with a socket allen key and long extensions. Takes only a few minutes then to remove and replace the seats.

I think Jez's post above explains it better than I did. You need the allen keys with balls on the end so that you can get at the bolts from an angle.

in an S2 can you move the pax seat forward a little .. or put it on runners like the drivers?

would be a useful bit of space there if you could wink

DAFL although I sort of bodged together some bits and bobs from assorted socket sets. First time I did it it took hours, easy job now.
