S1 rev counter

Stupid question, but I presume it isn't normal for the rev counter to drop out at high revs? I assume if it does so this is due to an electrical issue?

Probably a loose connection or a duff earth. Wouldn't put me off even if it needed a new gauge.

Cool. No it just kind of bounced back towards the top end of the rev range - almost like a rev-limiter had cut in, but purely on the dial and not the engine!

No ownership just yet, that's still the only one I've had a chance to look at. It was full of little things like that as I've already mentioned elsewhere, so very keen to see a few more and discover if they are all just character or if it really was a tad rough around the edges.

Its worth looking at a few, I didn’t but was extremely lucky as I bought on a whim having done no research at all. But I think, especially have read a few threads on here, that they all have character bits of which regularly fall off But you will have a smile on your face when you drive them.
