What's New/Cookies?

I seem to have problems with PH logging me out (and hence me losing all preferences, ability to post etc). This can happen mid-session and seems to be linked to use of the Gassing Station 'What's New' link.

Not a big problem, just confusing sometimes

I'll try and narrow down the circumstances under which it happens.

Right, I've worked out what it is. The 'track threads' feature is gobbling up the cookie allocation and kicking out older items such as your login.

Quick solution: turn off thread tracking

Proper solution: I'm working on it

'cos the new feature got add to 'fleet' - ratings, a sort of gold star thing -your update cunningly just before midnight , then AFTER midnight it changed to a bar chart.
