968 electric window problem..

Got a 968 sport. The front passenger side window has thrown a wobbler and it seems the glass has come off its track. The motor stil works and one can hear the track getting vaught up.
Bloody bad timing what with the sudden deluge of rain.
My question is...
Does anyone know if its a job a complete car DIY novice can undertake ? i.e. is it a case of taking off the door panel, putting the glass back on its runner and putting the panel back on.
Or is it, in your opinions, a job for someone who knows what they are doing. I dont mind paying someone to do it if theres any chance of me fecking it up!
Also, my nearest garage is AFN in Guildford and they would probably take the piss...

Apart from that the car is fine...
I did some work on a 944 electric window. It is easy enough to get the door panel off to have a look at what has gone wrong - either follow logic to find all hidden screws or peek at Haynes manual etc.
In my case a plastic wheel had broken from the scissor arm and could be replaced in situ. The glass could be put back on in situ as well. However, I wouldn't have fancied changing the whole assembly or the motor, as clearances and access can be tight if you just go for the quick fix option.
Worth trying, then if job looks too much of a headache, let a spannerman take the pain for you..

Easy DIY job....but once you have slotted glass back in the channel,,,try the mechanism a few times with the trim off to see if there is any play or wear anywhere,,,The glass came out of the channel for a reason.If you put it all back,,it may happen again.
If anything looks bent or worn,,try to get a secondhand part from one of the many Porker breakers known to this forum.
The mechanisms and channels have OPC parts department price tags that bear little relevance to the real world compared to secondhand parts.
