Aftermarket angeleyes

Just bought a '99 528iSE which is factory fitted with xenons but no angel eyes

i've seen these

and I was wondering whether the sellers claims (Genuine BMW) can be given any credence

Has anyone had any experience of these? Also any tips regarding fitting them??

Ive seen aftermarket ones on a 740 and they looked S H I T E.
When the lights were off, they kept flickering on briefly - which is the cars ecu checking the [filament] bulbs are ok.

I got aftermarket ones from these guys - http://www.ssdd-motorsport.com/ - and they were fantastic. Looked better than the genuine ones - brighter, crisper, nicer coloured light. I'd strongly recommend them.

There are loads of aftermarket angel-eyes. Many give off a very white light and look totally unlike BMW ones. The genuine article has a warm yellow glow. There is a company that makes authentic looking angel-eyes for the E36 3 Series but whether or not they make 5 Series ones I don't know. I'd be inclined to buy the genuine article from BMW if they're available for your car - potentially an expensive venture, though you might be able to find someone breaking a newer 5 Series who'll sell you the headlamp units.

I took the reverse view. I dont like the relatively dull yellow glow of the standard ones, even on my new x5 with xenons they look poor - particularly as they are dull yellow on the angel eyes, then bright bluey white for the xenon part.

Each to their own of course but i really loved my aftermarket ones - crisp bluey whiteness.
