BG came round last weekend and amongst all the other boocks we talked about, the merits of the CG Lock - it is, according to my learned friend, the best mod you can do to your car and worth at least 50 bhp. Taking all this with a large pinch of salt I ordered a couple.

Well, fitted mine today and went for a little play.

yikes

BG wasn't kidding. Once you're locked in it's nearly as good as a full harness and you can corner much faster - it's no longer your own limits but the cars that you can start exploring. And the good news is that my GTV handles quite nicely hehe

Doesn't do your fuel economy much good though paperbag

Well worth every penny of the £45 it costs yes If you haven't got one go buy one now - you won't regret it!

Are there any safe guards against the seat belt hurting you, when the pre-tensioners go off in an accident? If you have them, that is.

The leaflet that came with them says they are ok to use with pretensioners.

My bum does slip about a bit on the leather seats, maybe I should get one. Who sells them?

[smugmode]They made me one specially for the Bentley[/smugmode]. Not yet had a chance to try it though, on those big slippy hide seats. I've had one on the Furby for a couple of years, it is fantastic, and has definitely been a significant factor when i've been out doing the old David & Goliath routine.

There was a PH group buy a couple of years ago. They certainly seem happy to offer discounts for group buys from what I read on the website.

4-points for the same money here.....

I'm sure you could find something to clamp the belt at the receiver for less than £50 too? Seems expensive to me.

The whole point of the CG Lock is that it requires no mods to the standard seatbelt arrangement - it just attaches to a standard buckle and can be removed in seconds. Adding a 4-point harness is a whole different kettle of fish.

Me too, if it was only a clamp. But I think it's because it adjustable, after it's fitted, that makes it seem expensive.

The actual item itself isn't much, as FJ says, it's just a little clamp, in materials & manufacturing terms, it's peanuts. You look at the clamp and think blimey! £50 for that! But what it does is worth every penny.

I appreciate that you can get a proper harness, but that really is missing the point, I can't put a four point harness in a company car hehe
