Wondering if anyone has tried both? Is it worth spending the extra cash for DCCD model or not? Cheers!

yes DCCD is a revelation after 50:50 AWD. The car is so much more responsive, they turn in better and feel more poised on the exit. Also you can lock the dif up and pull yourself out of all sorts of rubbish (like last years Goodwood FOS car park for example) Certainly worth it!

I have driven both and even without the dccd the 05 is a totally different car. without going in to all the tech the chassis is the finest example of an EJ20 based car that subaru made except for the spec c derivatives. The 05 sti is wider than previous models and has a very different handling setup, you will find more tramlining on this model than previous and the turn in and understeer although still not perfect are much better. then you add the dccd and yes it is a better car.

that said enjoy whatever you buy!
