Hi all,

Has anyone on here had protective film applied to the front of their cars? Being black mines showing off the odd chip quite nicely and so I was looking into this. Seen in done quite well (couldn't tell it was there) but trying to find somewhere recommended that would do a VXR.

Thanks

I have used Venture Sheild and as much as it pains me to say... it was very good. I applied it myself and it is easy but you need to ensure the paintwork is spotless and no dust is floating about otherwise you get spots under the film. Its not like a stick on vinyl as you float it on with water and squeegy out the excess. Once on it really sticks well! Also it stretches ok to go over corners etc. My only complaint is they supplied me less than half what I paid for but for a number of reasons I couldnt get them to cough up the rest!

Will be getting mine done properly once its been painted. Be aware it aint cheap mind!!

Based on past experience I had mine done by Armourfend in Nazing, Essex. Cost about £400 for the front, wing mirrors and inside wheel arches. Well worth doing in my opinion.

Thanks guys,

Definately something I want to look into.

Do you reckon the shop in Essex is the best place to go, otherwise they seem to have a dealer in Reading round the corner from where i'm working at the mo?

Cheers

I would think that their dealer/installers should all use the same techniques and materials, but you could always phone the main place in Essex and check with them.

A lot of the TVR guys use this stuff so you also post on the TVR forum and ask if anyone has any firsthand experience of the place in Reading.

Cheers, Neil
