Ok so my sagaris is running lumpy yet again. No surprise there. However this time i don't want to have to bring it all the way to the uk and back. I also don't want to have to drive a 12 hour roundtrip to belfast to the nearest approved tvr garage. Plus last time i took it to the uk for servicing and to sort out the lumpy idle in a top tvr dealer it was there for 2 months. It came back just as bad and i only found out recently they never even took off the spark plug cover as it was still sealed from new. There's a local garage here who is taking care of all manner of great cars and have been looking after the tvr. However they need the software for the speed six engine. They already have the base software but it is not allowing them access to adjust the engine (forgive my non technical mind here i can't remember the exact area they need to adjust) What they said they are looking for is turbulence software. They are blocked out of that area by the ecu at the moment and just think it's because they must not have the full software package.

Where can i get this as any tvr dealer they ring in the uk is unhelpful which is stupid really considering the nearest person to me is 12 hours away. Any help or tips from anyone would be great because to be fair i am really sick of the engine being fine for a few days after a service and then just going back to struggling to start and nearly cutting out everytime it's idling. Is it too much to ask for a bit of comfort that your car isn't going to die everytime you start her up? frown

If its stuggling to start or cutting out can`t the idle RPM be raised?

Hi I used to have a T350 and had similar problems, from memory I found that the software does not allow you to actually change any settings, it only allows you to reset the adaptive maps which in theory should set the throttle position sensors and other sensors back to the factory settings. I found that by cleaning excessive oil & grime from the throttle bodies and resetting with the software things were improved.. A cheap and easy thing to replace is the throttle position sensors which are ford parts...I would try this before paying through the nose at a specialist...

The ECU software instructions are very good and will tell you what the sensor readings should be so this will give you a good guide of where problems exist..

I think you would be better spending 12 hours reading the software instructions then learning how to do the basics... I found that was I relying on "specialists" and paying for it......in the end it was fairly obvious from talking to them that they weren't that special..

good luck with it I remember the fustrations of TVR ownership..... but I still visit this forum regularly very strange.. smile

I thought the MBE ecu data was encrypted unlike the Tuscan ecus.

Anyone know for certain if T350s and Tamora ecus are encrypted or not?

To be honest i wouldn't go near it. I am not good when it comes to mechanics which is why i leave it to the experts. All i know is they have done their best to manually adjust what they can but to get any further they need this 'turbulence' software to help them reset and sort out the idling. From what little i could follow it seems more fuel is being fed to 2 specific throttle bodies (would that be right, i am bad with names of bits too!) which is making things lumpy as hell. The idling has been set higher everytime i bring it to a tvr garage (a few different ones) but again after a few hundred miles its back to square one. Which is usless as a few hundred miles is only when i have it home again frown

Funky,

Can't help with the software but don't know if you have been in touch with Greg Connolly at Torque-Flyte. I know that they are a run up the motorway but I have always found them very good with any queries even if you can't travel to Belfast. Let me know if you need a number for them.

Funky, somethinng very similar to this happened to me at Diamond Rock. Dom plugged in his laptop, traced it to a faulty error message in the water seonsor and fixed it in a matter of seconds. Might be worth giving Power a call.
