Air Filter TVR S3 2.9

Whats the best internet site to pick one of these up? I have looked on TVR Car Parts (see below) has anyone dealt with this site before and can give some feed back?

Also is this all I will need or do I need to order additional parts. I have the TVR bible but could not find a section on removing and changing the air filter??

The air filter is really easy to change, there is a clasp on one side that holds the filter to the metal plate, twist this and off it come, fitting is reverse process.

I have used TVR Car Parts for lots of different parts in the past with no problems.
I recently purchased a new filter from a local motor factors, if you can find one locally you don't need to pay the postage.
Unless your filter is coming apart, you can usually clean them up by using a filter service kit, costs less than a tenner.

the other thing I would consider is removing the engine breather hose which on mine was fitted to the side of the filter. I just couldnt bring myself to make a hole in my new filter to allow hot and oily air from the engine into the inlet duct ahead of the AFM's - which on mine were gunged up with oily crud. So. I simply fitted a breather filter to the oil filler cap on the rocker box.

Cheers all, TVRParts, awesume next day delievry!!! My breather hose does go through the side of the air filter, would not mind a picture of your alternative breather. Not that mechanicaly minded is it a big job to use the oil breather?

its a piece of cake, just take off the pipe that leads to the old filter & fit a mini K&N breather filter, Halfords sell them with anodised tops.

As Giles says its a simple push fit and clamp direct onto the oil filler cap... easier than making a hole in the side of your new filter for the old arrangement.
I'll post a pic when I get home if you like.

Good idea about the filter instaed of the hose. Without me having to go out in the dark and measure it, does anybody know the size of the hole on the filler cap it is fitted to. There seems to be a varied selection of sizes available.

Just been looking at the Photbox ref above and see that an extra throttle return spring has been fitted - a good idea as mine can be a bit slow at times (although not a problem it would be nice if it was a bit quicker) - so does anyone know what the spring is off/where I could get one, etc??

Hi Jim

See my profile for the link to Myphotoalbum - see page 5 of TVR Rebuild Album - I made a new throttle return spring to replace the broken one (which is also in the picture for reference...) You just need some spring wire and a pair of pliers and a rod to wrap the wire around a few times to get the shape/form.
